'Galvanneal' is a zinc-iron alloy coating applied by the hot-dip process to both sides of the steel sheet. As the standard material used to manufacture all Artek products, 'galvanneal' steel has a dull grey colour and will accept finish paint without costly pre-treatment.

For more extreme applications such as exposure to greater ambient toxicity or moisture, a bright, zinc 'galvanised' coating is available.

Artek doors and frames will accept a variety of paints and finishing methods depending on the painting specifications and locally available materials and methods. Consult your local painting contractor.

DOOR SPECIFICATION

All doors are manufactured with integral closer reinforcing box and end channels (standard for all doors).

All doors are prepared for 1½ pairs of standard weight 4½" hinges (High frequency hinge reinforcement standard).

All doors offer a standard preparation for cylindrical (161) 2¾" back-set or rim panic reinforcement (push/pull).

All doors are made with mechanically interlocking seams.

All doors are available with optional steel or vinyl top caps for exterior applications.

EXPANDIBLE STEEL FRAMES-OUR MOST POPULAR SELLING FRAME



Baron’s expandable drywall frames offer optimum versatility due to its unique design with over 3 inches of expansion to accommodate various wall thicknesses. Frames are available knockdown for easy field installation after walls have been erected.

  • 18 gauge (1.2) or 16 gauge (1.5) galvanneal steel
  • For use with 1 ¾" (45) doors (steel or wood)
  • Adjustable from 5 ½" to 8 ¾"
  • Prepared for 9/32" silencer holes
  • Prepared to receive countersunk screws #7 x 2 ½ (included)
  • Prepared with 12 gauge A.S.A. strike reinforcing
